Description

Whether you want a pull-over sweater or a cardigan - this pattern is for you...Both styles are included! The wide collar and shorter sleeves give it a great vintage feel, but you could lengthen the sleeves to make a cozy modern sweater. It's hard to find these things in the thrift shop, so just make one... you get the style you want, and you get to pick the color and size.

This pattern is originally from Spinnerin, Volume 150, published in 1962. This is no longer in circulation, so in order to make it available for more vintage loving knitters, I am transcribing the instructions exactly as written in the original pattern book and offering them here.

Directions are for VINTAGE Women's size 12, 14 and 16. Sizing is according to this chart from the original pattern book:

If you are crafty, you can probably adjust the pattern to fit larger sizes.

Original yarn used was:
Spinnerin Mohair 1001 or Cortina, 1 oz balls
Or
Spinnerin Tempo or Frostlon, 2 oz balls
Or
Spinnerin Mohair Boucle or Alpine, 50 gram balls
For Slipon: 9(10-11) balls
For Cardigan: 10(11-12) balls
You can google vintage yarn and get all the specifications you need to shop around for modern equivalents.

Gauge: 3 sts x 4 1/2 rows = 1”

Needles: Size 7 and 10 1/2 knitting needles, crochet hook No 0
