This is a cute little vintage baby blanket with a classic look and modern appeal. there is a satin edging, so a little hand-sewing at the end to attach the fabric and the optional pre-made applique.

This pattern is originally from New Lux, 1952 Edition. This is no longer in circulation, so in order to make it available for more vintage loving knitters, I am transcribing the instructions exactly as written in the original pattern book and offering them here.
The finished size is approximately 27x 34
Original yarn specified was:
Baby Yarn - 7 oz.
You can google modern equivalents to get the gauge needed.
Gauge: 8 1/2 sts x 8 rows = 1”
Needles: Size 5 knitting needles
