This listing is for the 4-Piece Baby set which includes a Sweater/Jacket, Bonnet, Booties, and Thumbless Mittens. This is part of a total Baby's Ensemble. What a great baby gift or project for your own little one! They all have the same sweet lace pattern detail. This is a perfect retro vintage look, but is still totally great for today too.

This pattern is originally from New Lux, 1952 Edition. This is no longer in circulation, so in order to make it available for more vintage loving knitters, I am transcribing the instructions exactly as written in the original pattern book and offering them here.

Directions are for VINTAGE Infant/Chile size 6 months, 1 year. Sizing is according to this chart from the original pattern book:

Year - ВЅ - 1
Chest - 19” - 20”
Waist - 19” - 19 ½”

The pattern is the same for both sizes, you just change needle sizes - so if you wanted to make this even bigger, just change needles and/or yarn to get a bigger stitch, and use this same pattern.

Original yarn used was:
Baby Yarn - 5 oz (for the 4-piece set of Jacket, Bonnet, Bootees, and Mittens)

You can google vintage yarn and get the specifications you need to shop around for modern equivalents.

Gauge: 9 sts x 12 rows = 1" on size 1 needles

Needles:
6-months = size 1 needles
1 year = size 2 needles

Extras:
6 yards 1/2" Baby Ribbon (for the 4-piece set)
