This crochet pattern shows you how to work with Plarn. Plastic is a real cool resource to work with: It doesn’t cost anything and will last over 100 years. This is a great contribution to our environment to use up all the plastic in such a fashion to make something useful and durable.

This pattern explains in detail with pictures, description and video tutorials HOW to make plarn = plastic yarn and fashion it into the hat you see me wearing (sorry, I hate modeling). It is wonderful airy for the summertime and makes the perfect beach hat. I did not have anymore material (I used old Avon bags), else I would have made a wider brim, which it totally possible as you would continue on with the brim.
