This handmade wool needle felted Rose-breasted Grosbeak is perched on a Manitoba Maple branch. These stunning birds are easily seen in the spring before the leaves come out on the trees, and one can imagine an early spring day with this bird singing its melodious song on this branch.

The bird was created over many hours carefully needle felting 100% Canadian wool into a life-like sculpture. The branch was taken from one of many trees that fell victim to the 2013 ice storm. The Grosbeaks eyes are made with glass beads and it is attached to the branch by wire and is felted onto the branch as well.

The hanger is hidden behind the bird (making the piece look like it is magically hanging on the wall) and will hook onto a nail or screw in the wall.
