Description

The Black-throated Blue Warbler is a beautiful bird that can be found throughout the forests of eastern North America in the spring and summer. One of my favorite birds to see in the spring, this male is perched on a Red-osier Dogwood branch like you might see as it is migrating. They like to forage and stay in thick underbrush, which shrubs like dogwood provide.

This piece took many hours to make, carefully felting the bird and making sure all the details are correct. Next great care was taken to select the branch and affix the bird to it so that it looks like it is perched onto the branch. The piece is hung by a wire loop located behind the bird, making it look like it is suspended on the wall magically.
