Description
A worship of the delicacy and beauty of nature. This is part of my newest collection, inspired by my obsession with nature, antique religious relics and natural history shadowboxes... little fragile leaves and flowers encased in resin. This necklace was inspired by Gothic - Renaissance cathedral Rose windows and the intricate details of historic religious relics.
This collection started with hours and hours of exploring beaches, forests and fields for nature's tiniest wonders. This particular piece is the worship of a delicate little leaf. A perfect example of nature's symmetry in the tiniest detail. Truely a one of a kind piece!
This pendant was first created by cutting, shaping and soldering the sterling silver pendant base. It was then sanded, polished and hand engraved with a tradtional florentine cross hatch finish and oxidized to give it an antique look. Then the intricate Gothic frame was painstakingly pierced, cut and filed and antique paper was patiently folded to create the inner frame. Lastly after the frames and the delicate specimen were laid in place, the resin was poured over to preserve and protect it forever. Measures 3.1cm by 3.8cm and hangs from a double strand 16in sterling silver chain and elagant little engraved clasp.
