How to Sew a Pair of Stirrup Leggings for Women and Girls

You’ll love this easy-to-make and easy-to-wear Stirrup Leggings pattern. These leggings have one seam per leg and an enclosed elastic waistband making this a quick sew. The pattern also has a foot stirrup at the hem so that the heel and toes can be exposed, while keeping the leggings on. If preferred, the leggings can also be worn with the stirrup folded up. Materials: Fabric - These Stirrup Leggings have been designed for 4-way stretch knit fabrics with 5-12% Lycra/elastine to create a snug fit. Your fabric needs to have at least 40% stretch. Lycra gives extra stretch and has excellent recovery. Great choices are cotton lycra, nylon lycra, and jersey polyester lycra. Increasing the amount of Lycra/elastine will provide a tighter, more compression feel to the fit.
