Butter Cookies with Chocolate Cream

Butter cookies with chocolate cream is one of my favorite childhood desserts. I can't remember how many times I spent all my allowance on these cookies. On special occasions when I managed to be a really good kid and save some of my allowance, I used to love serving the butter cookies topped with vanilla ice cream and ground nuts sprinkled liberally. What a wonderful childhood memory!

I like the butter cookies with chocolate cream because in spite of the butter, they seem quite light. The dough is pretty soft and airy and they don't need tons of cream to make a delicious dessert. I sometimes serve the cookies without any cream or I just brush a little cream on. I love serving the butter cookies with chocolate cream next to a warm glass of milk or a cup of unsweetened linden tea.

Materials: 300 gr butter, 4 egg yolks, 200 g powdered sugar, 450 g flour, 2 sachets vanilla sugar, 1/2 sachet baking powder
