Beaded Whale Bracelet, Bead Weaving
Posted by Feb 15, 2013
onI was looking through old photos and saw a snapshot of our whale watching adventure on Maui. Have you ever gone whale watching? It's amazing! To be up close to those huge, majestic whales was definitely thrilling but I worried we were getting too cozy with that powerful tail. One swish and our boat would splat to little pieces. Inspired by these beautiful creatures, I beaded whales - in bright, happy colors of course. My kids said I needed a whale family so here is daddy, baby and mommy whale spending a day together.
The adorable whales are bead woven in the brick stitch method using size 11/0 Delica beads. The whales are lined up in a row with two larger whales, blue and pink, surrounding a smaller yellow whale. The beaded piece is attached to a silver plated chain that closes securely with a lobster claw clasp. The bracelet measures 7 in. in length.
Materials: Delica seed beads, Fireline
