1950s Vintage Red Dress

I wanted to make a formal vintage dress, but I wanted it to have more of a modern look with a shorter hem. I found Butterick pattern 5708 for this dress and it all came together!

I really didn't alter the pattern, but I think the ties, which look great, aren't necessarily something I would do again because they don't really work with a cardigan - and I love my cardigans!
