*Additional tools * 1⁄8 in. (3 mm) hole punch
Step 1
Cut a 40 in. (102 cm) strip of merlot tape. Fold in half lengthwise. This is the main belt.
Step 2
Cut at least 6 inch (1.25 cm) wide strips in each of the remaining colors.
Step 3
Starting 6 inches (15 cm) from one end of the belt, place five strips, one of each color, vertically across the width. Leave 1 inch of (1.25 cm) space and add another group of five strips, one of each color. Continue adding groups of five strips, 1 inch (1.25 cm) apart, until 3 inches (7.5 cm) remains at the end of the belt.
Step 4
Flip the belt over and fold the duct tape strips down.
Step 5
At the 3 inch (7.5 cm) end of the belt, fold in half lengthwise. Using scissors, round off the corners.
Step 6
Using the hole punch, make a row of holes 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart in the 3 in. (7.5 cm) end of the belt.
Step 7
On the 6 inch (15 cm) end of the belt, punch a hole 3 inches (7.5 cm) from the edge. Weave the belt through the buckle and insert the tongue through the hole. Secure the end to the reverse side with a piece of tape.
