For many of us, quilts evoke a sense of calm and warmth, a yearning for a cup of tea or cocoa and a paperback novel. For those of us who want to raise the mercury and spice up a drab room, this fiery quilt pattern is the answer.

Materials Purple sashing strips: 40 strips of 1-1/2x 12-1/2 Fuschia sashing strips: 25 strips of 1-1/2x 1-1/2 Outer vertical borders: 4 strips of 6=1/2x 53-1/2 Outer horizontal borders: 4 strips of 6-1/2 x 65-1/2 Binding: Gold geometric print: enough 2-1/4 strips to equal 270" length
