SECRET GARDEN FELT PATTERN: BROCCOLI

The heartfelt smile on this green veggie is sure to make him a favorite. Look for free felt patterns to make other Secret Garden felt characters.
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES:
- Felt in chartreuse, pink, and red
- Embroidery thread in coordinating colors
- Embroidery needle
- Iron-on adhesive
- Two 1/4" (5mm) green buttons
- 1/2" (15mm) green pom-poms
- Scissors
- Fabric glue
- Permanent marker
- Pins
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing
Step 1

Enlarge the pattern to 190%. Cut the required pieces from felt, and heat set the cheeks and heart. Embroider the mouth, and use an eyelash stitch for the eyelashes. Stitch 1/4" (5mm) green buttons in place for the eyes.
Step 2
Pin the two broccoli pieces together, and whip stitch around the edges, leaving an opening for stuffing. Stuff the broccoli and stitch the opening closed.
Step 3

For the broccoli top, use fabric glue to attach 1/2" (15mm) green pom-poms as shown.
