A piece of embroidery doesn't have to be big to make an impact. In the case of this hand-towel, a small Delsbo flower does nicely.
Technique: Delsbo stitch
Supplies:
- Red pearl floss, or DMC mouliné
- White linen cloth, approximately 49 x 64 cm/ 19.2
x 25.2
, or a readymade white linen kitchen towel, approximately 45 x 60 cm/ 17.7x 23.6
- Cotton tape for hanging
- Lace tape (optional)
Step 1
Fold in all edges and hem the fabric by hand or machine (skip this step if you’re using a ready-made towel). Sew on the lace tape, if using. Sew on the cotton tape for hanging.
Step 2
Mark the center of the towel. Transfer the pattern (see image) and embroider one-sided flat stitch and stem stitch.

Step 3
Use one thread pearl floss, or three threads mouliné floss. Secure all ends and iron the towel smooth.
