Brighten up any party with a bunting made from miniature origami lanterns. For a personal touch, print a letter on each little lantern to spell out a special message.
Crease according to the dotted line
Fold the left and right sides to the center, according to the dotted lines
Fold all four corners toward the center of the paper, leaving about 1/4 in/6 mm between the edge of each fold and the paper’s centerline
Mountain fold the top and bottom flaps back, according to the dotted lines
Fold all four corners toward the center of the paper, leaving about 3/8 in/1 cm between the edge of each fold and the paper’s centerline
Your paper should now look like the picture. Flip over.
Lift the top flap up while pulling the left and right sides out. Press down and flatten into shape
Repeat Step 7 on the bottom of the lantern
Your Lantern is finished! Make multiple lanterns in various sizes and colors. Tape the lanterns to string, as pictured in. Intertwine the strand with twinkling lights, if desired. Just make sure that the paper does not get too close to the bulbs.
