PAINTED ROCKS WITH FLOWERS AND PLANTS BY F. SEHNAZ BAC
If you consider cave painting to be the original artwork, decorating stone dates back to the earliest days of man. F. Sehnaz Bac, who started painting stones while on archaeology digs has gained a huge gained following for beautiful paintings on smooth, palm-sized stones. In her recent book, The Art of Stone Painting," Bac explains how to get started. Smooth stones are best found on the riverside. Once home, you'll want to soak them in water to remove any grit. If the surface is still uneven you can remove bumps and crevices with fine sandpaper. Below is a pattern to help get you started.

Step 1
Oval, flat stones work best for this project. Draw simple, tiny plants with a pencil. You can use your imagination, take inspiration from nature or follow the design on the rocks in the picture to the left.
Step 2
Using acrylic paints, dip pens and paint pens, add color to your designs. For the plants with only lines, you can trace over the pencil sketch with a dip pen or extra-fine paint pen.
Step 3
Use black fineliner pen to add contour and shadowing to your plants. Then, to finish your plant add some small details such as dots and thin lines
