Did you know turtles symbolize longevity in many cultures? Give this origami turtle as a gift to someone coming out of a rough patch to wish them stability, or as a birthday gift to wish them many more.
Making this turtle with children? Here are more paper crafts to keep them entertained, including video tutorials of dozens of origami animals.
Step 1

Start with a blintz base (four corners folded equally into the center of the paper). Fold back corners so they meet in the center on the opposite side.
Step 2

Fold corners in again.
Step 3

Make small corner folds.
Step 4

Unfold four tabs.
Step 5

Force small triangles in while refolding.
Step 6

Cut from A to B on the underside as shown by the dotted lines. Pull out corner from underneath. (See next step.)
Step 7

Hold down, pull out tab.
Step 8

Fold out the tabs. These are the turtle's legs. Fold the outer corners of the head inward.
