HURDLE RIB STITCH BED AFGHAN

GAUGE:
7.5 sts measure 4 in. (10 cm) Row gauge is not crucial for this project. YARN: 5 skeins of super bulky, 100% wool, 8.8 oz. (250 g), 123 yd. (112.50 m) in fawn.
EQUIPMENT:
US size 15 (10mm) circular needle, 31 in. (80 cm) long Tapestry needle
NOTE: The circular needle is used for flat knitting (in rows). It will allow you to accommodate the number of stitches required.

Step 1
PATTERN:
Using the long-tail cast-on method, cast on 69 sts. To create perfectly neat edges, the cast-on includes two selvage stitches, - one at the beginning and - one at the end of each row.
Step 2
Set-up Row (RS): Sl 1 purlwise wyib, knit to last st, p1
Set-up Row 2 (WS): Sl 1 st purlwise wyib, knit to last st, p1
Step 3
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1 st purlwise wyib, knit to last st, p1.
Row 2 (WS): Sl 1 st purlwise wyib, knit to last st, p1.
Row 3 : Sl 1 st purlwise wyib, *k1, p1; repeat from * across to last 2 sts, k1, p1.
Row 4 : Sl 1 st purlwise wyib, *p1, k1; repeat from * across to last 2 sts, p1, p1.
Step 4
Repeat Rows 1 – 4 another 42 times or until the piece measures approximately 56 in. (142 cm) or the desired size.
Step 5
Repeat Set-up Rows 1 – 2 twice more.
Step 6
Bind off knitwise.
FINISHING:
- Block the piece.
- Weave in the ends.
