HOW TO MAKE A HULA HOOP
Hula hooping is fun for both kids and adults! Unfortunately, kiddie hoops are too light for adults. Besides being fun, hooping is great exercise, and here how you can make your own hoops.
Everything you'll need is able to be purchased from most hadware stores with a good plumbing section. You will need: 3/4 in. x 100 ft. IPS 160 PSI or 100 PSI NSF Poly Pipe, a pair of ratcheting PVC cutters, and a 3/4 in. x 3/4 in. PVC Barb x Barb Insert Coupling.
If you want to tape your hoop, get electrical tape rather than duct tape.

Boil a pot of water.
Step 2
Grab your coil of piping and measure the length you need for your hoop. Figure out the diameter you want. If you want a 36diameter for your hoop, which is a good starter measurement, multiply 36
, or your chosen diameter by pi, (3.14) to get the length of pipe you'll need.
Step 3
Cut your length of tubing with the ratcheting PVC cutter. BE CAREFUL!!
Step 4
If you couping has a pointy barb on it, file it down first. Otherwise, your pot of water should be boiling about now.
Step 5
Take your length of piping and your couping to the pot of water. Carefully, stick on cut end of your pipe into the water for about 30 seconds. After that time, take your coupling and shove it about half way into the end of the pipe that was in the water. Repeat for the other end.
Step 6
Hey, you should have something that looks like a hoop! If you want, you can tape your hoop. Fancy duct tape is tempting, but it's hard to tape hoops with. Use electrical tape as it is more forgiving.
Step 7
Go out and play!
