Cute Origami Paper Tutorial: High-Heeled Shoes

With these foxy origami paper shoes, you can brag to all your girlfriends that you found a pair of stiletto heels that never hurt your feet. They don’t have to know these shoes are made from a pretty piece of origami paper—you can keep that part a secret.

These origami heels make adorable, tasteful decorations for birthday and bachelorette parties. (Psst! You can invite friends to said party with these origami kite invitations. And if you're looking for more easy origami decor, look no further than these origami flower pomanders.)

Materials Square sheet of paper Bone folder (optional)

Step 1

Fold in half from left to right. Unfold. Fold in half from upper point to lower point. Unfold.

Fold the top point down so it touches the middle X crease. Unfold.

Flip over to the other side.

Fold the sides in so they meet at the center crease. Your paper will be shaped like a kite.

Stick your finger inside the upper pocket, and bring the point indicated by the circle (see accompanying image) down to the arrow on each side. This will cause the sides to open out. Then fold the top tip down, squashing it flat as you go.

Flip over to the other side.

Fold the top end down along the dotted line (see image). The pointy end that comes out as you do so is the toe of the shoe!

Beginning at the top point, fold the sides in toward the center. Only the edges of the top section will meet at the center. See accompanying image for guidance.

Fold the bottom edges in to meet at the center crease.

Flip over to other side. Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Form the heel by folding behind in a slight V shape.

Fold the shoe in half along the sole and the heel, and crease the heel down along the V shape fold to complete.
