Summer is the ideal season for frolicking, and there's no better place to do it than the 63rd Annual South Shore Frolics Festival of Arts. While indulging in such whimsy, a frolicker can find everything from original paintings and ceramics to jewelry and outdoor sculpture. Something is bound to strike your fancy.

The West

At the 2011 International Folk Art Market, 135 artists from 49 different countries came to display their wares, and 20,741 people flooded Santa Fe to view and buy these wares. It's the largest international folk art market in the world, and (if you live in the States) you don't need a passport to get there.

Time to brush up on your French and dust off the berets, mes amis. The French Festival is in Santa Barbara, and that means impressionist painters at their easels, handcrafted jewelry, various types of French media and even an Eiffel Tower.
