Improv Sewing — Learn Reverse Applique

"Improv Sewing: A Freeform Approach to Creative Techniques" is a new book from authors Nicole Blum and Debra Immergut, the bloggers behind Improv Diary. The book features 101 sewing projects, including dresses, shirts, accessories pillows, curtains and more.
One fun technique that is used throughout the projects in the book is reverse applique. Reverse applique is different from regular applique in that the fabric used in the underside of the project shows through. In traditional applique, a piece of fabric is applied over another surface, much like a patch.
