This week we feature CraftFoxes member and blogger Maize Hutton. At her blog, Maize posts DIY crafting ideas and tidbits from her life as a mom. Maize is the creator of Mommy Tags, and she has an Etsy shop where she sells crafting creations and vintage finds. In addition to her own personal sites, Maize also has a CraftFoxes profile where she posts unique craft creations such as her Crocheted Coasters. We asked Maize some questions and here is what she had to say.

Can you tell us a little bit about your blog and when you started it?
Howdy! I'm Maize from Montana. I’m a designer, decorator and maker of things. I live in a brick cottage in the woods with my little Westie Violet Blossom aka Bubbles the Wonder Dog. I started my blog in 2004. I post DIY projects and now I'm quite smitten with my first grandchild Landon, so there may be a few token pictures of his awesomeness from time to time. In 2003, I started a business called "Mommy Tags" which are handcrafted personalized name tags from recycled silver. Mommy Tags have been featured in national and international baby magazines and created the name tag trend of mommy necklaces. In 2005, we added "Doodle Tags" which are personalized tags made from your child's doodle or signature.

What is one of your favorite projects you've ever made?
First, I'd have to say the crocheted wedding bouquet I recently made for my daughter's wedding is my current fave. It's made entirely of crocheted flowers and leaves with vintage lace and a thrifted doily. Second would be my pom pom rug and my most popular DIY is the "Frayed Flower" post I did back in 2007.

Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
My inspiration comes from my Norwegian great-grandmother and my mother. GG crocheted and knitted a lot and I love the folk art of Scandinavia. I also find inspiration in thrift stores (I collect a lot of lace and doilies) and nature.

Which of your craft projects took the longest to finish?
The Crocheted Wedding Bouquet took the longest for obvious reasons. I also crocheted bouquets for the maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids!

Describe your personal style in 3 words.
Bohemian, eclectic, lacy.

When I'm not crafting, I can be found...
...teaching myself a new skill such as photography or calligraphy.

If you were to be cast on a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why?
Sorry, I don't watch reality shows!
