Raise your hand if you almost forgot that Easter was upon us! Maybe it’s because the holiday fell late this year, but we’re suddenly finding ourselves frantically looking for decoration ideas that go beyond the typical store-bought cardboard flourishes. And did we mention that time is ticking? Thankfully, in our panicked search, we found ten ideas that are big on style and short on effort.
Our first choice? These super-cute stitched felt carrot boutonnieres (pictured in the image above).

Silhouette Easter Eggs

We don’t like to get too fussy with our Easter eggs, but this silhouette effect doesn’t take much more effort than the traditional dunk 'n' dye. Just apply a sticker before placing the egg in the dye cup, then peel it off afterwards.

Crepe, tissue or construction paper details turn hard-boiled or wooden eggs into bunnies, carrots and Disney characters. And, it’ll keep the little ones occupied while you go about your hostess duties. What’s not to love?

Fast Finger Puppets

If you need a little something for an Easter basket, look no further than that random collection of pipe cleaners hidden in your craft supply drawer. Just coil and add on a few details to create fun, holiday themed finger puppets.

gumdrop wreath
Sweet Wreath

So you got sucked into buying a 5-lb bag of jelly beans or gum drops? This wouldn’t be too tragic, if you hadn’t accidentally picked up the spice flavor. Yikes! By gluing to a wreath form, you’ll have an adorable accent that we think looks nice even after the holidays have passed. But in the interest of saving time, we’d go with using a small circular piece of cardboard as a base.

Get the most out of a single bouquet of tulips by breaking it up into mini-arrangements. (It’s perfectly fine to use glass jars as impromptu vases.) Simply line them up to create a gorgeous runner.

Origami Candy Boxes

OK, don’t scroll away just yet … origami isn’t as scary as it sounds. This little candy box, which takes maybe 3 minutes to get the hang of, is the perfect intro to the art of paper folding. And better yet, the box’s shallow depth means you won’t have to fuss with Easter grass fillers.

happy easter garland
Happy Little Garland

For a quick, festive garland, string up paper tags embellished with vintage easter images. The surefire way to keep it looking Easter-perfect: use pastel ribbon.
No scrapbooking emblems on hand? Then try repurposing sheet music and crepe paper.
easter lantern chandelier
Lantern Chandelier

Skip the streamers and instead hang a cluster of paper party lanterns, chandelier-style. The key to getting the biggest impact is to hang each lantern at a different height. Though most tutorials tell you to use monofilament, thin ribbon boosts the decorative factor. The linked chandelier was originally done for Valentine's Day, but also works for Easter.
