Crock pots are an extremely versatile kitchen tool that can allow you to begin a scrumptious dinner dish in the morning, and then leave it cooking all day while you're at work. The end result of these slow cooker adventures are usually quite delicious. But did you know that you can also use crock pots to cook your dessert dishes as well? It’s true! There are many crock pot dessert recipes online, but we've curated six delicious examples here. If you're looking to try something sweet in your slow cooker, this is a good place to start.
Molten Lava Cake
Molten lava cake -- chocolate cake that is doused in delicious chocolate sauce -- is a favorite for chocoholics. If you don’t have the time or just don’t want to turn on your oven, this recipe might be a good idea to try out. All you have to do is mix up some cake batter -- either from scratch or from a cake mix -- and pour it into your crock pot. You’ll want to coat your crock pot with cooking spray so the cake doesn’t stick. This looks absolutely delicious, and it’s easy too!
Baked Apples
Baked apples are a great dessert to make in the fall, but you can make it any time of the year. It’s also a great dessert to make if you’re feeling guilty about eating lots of sweet things. At least there are some nutritious, juicy apples in this recipe! You’ll need about six apples, depending on how many can fit in your crock pot, and then several ingredients for the filling -- brown sugar, walnuts, butter, and cinnamon. The apples take about 45 minutes to an hour to cook in the crock pot, and you can refrigerate them for up to 3 days if you’re waiting for a special occasion.

Peanut Butter Cup Cake
Are you a fan of that classic combination -- peanut butter and chocolate? Do you also like cake? This recipe might be just the one for you. This recipe calls for a 4-quart crock pot, but if you have a 6-quart or something larger, you can put a baking pan inside the pot for the cake to cook in. The cake is made by mixing up two different batters, chocolate and peanut butter, and then layering them in your crock pot. The recipe calls for making these batters from scratch, but you can easily use a cake mix from a box too. The final product will be a gooey creation full of chocolate and peanut butter flavors.

Peach Cobbler
This cobbler is sweet and light, with the delicious taste of peaches encrusted in pastry. Cooking the cobbler in a crock pot is a helpful alternative if you don’t have ramekin dishes. First, mix up an all-purpose baking mix with sugar, eggs, vanilla, margarine, and milk. Then you simply add some 3 mashed up peaches and cinnamon. Mix all of that together and pour it into your crock pot. This dessert will take about 6-8 hours on low and, of course, cobbler is best served warm! Just add some vanilla ice cream and you’ve got a tasty dessert.

Red Velvet Cake
I don’t know about you, but red velvet cake is a favorite in my house. Now, whenever you get a craving for some red velvet, all you need to do is mix up this recipe and cook it in your crock pot. The recipe is incredibly simple, too. The only ingredients you’ll need are a red velvet cake mix from a box, applesauce, water, 3 eggs, and cooking spray for the inside of your crock pot. Mix everything together and cook your cake on high for about 1 ½ to 2 hours. When the cake is finished cooking, all you’ll have to do is add your favorite frosting, and maybe some sprinkles!
Upside Down Pineapple Cake
This upside down pineapple cake can be a tough dessert to execute. But there aren’t many ingredients involved in this recipe, and all you need is a crock pot to cook it in. You can use a yellow cake mix as the base for this dessert. First add in melted butter, brown sugar, crushed pineapples, and cherries. Then pour your cake batter on top of that, slowly so that the batter settles evenly. The cake will take about 4 to 5 hours to bake in your crock pot. When it’s finished, simply flip the crock pot over and out comes your upside down cake!
